statement

I am an artist who values working in a wandering fashion. I make drawings and paintings habitually, in simple, short responses to myself and my surroundings, like how someone might journal. In this way my work is intended to capture and expand on daily, often fleeting and vague experience. Relying on a fixation on the commonplace and the fostering of idiosyncratic expression, I create pictures that recognize the multiplicity and intricacies in daily, ordinary awareness. I find I often end up drawing and painting the very normal things like birds, faces, trees, fears, buildings, flowers, and dreams.
